Cream paper

Also called ivory paper, cream high-bulk

A slightly tinted paper, cream or ivory rather than bright white. It is mostly uncoated, often high-bulk, and used for fiction, essays and poetry.

In practice

It is easier on the eye over long pages and gives the book a warmer look. It also shifts colours: a photograph or a logo designed for white turns slightly yellow on it. If the book has colour images, ask for a proof on this stock, or keep a section on white paper for them.
